Valuation Control Lead Analyst

The Valuation Control Group (VCG) is an independent team of subject matter experts within the Finance Division. VCG’s primary responsibility is to reasonably ensure that risk portfolios are fairly valued in accordance with applicable standards and regulatory requirements. In doing so, the team works closely with its stakeholders, including senior management, business heads, product control, market risk, regulators, and both internal and external audit.

The Valuation Control Lead Analyst is a senior level position responsible for leading efforts in the Independent Price Verification, Valuation Adjustment and Fair Value Hierarchy processes.

Responsibilities:

• Be one of the senior members in the Valuation Control Team in Budapest with responsibility for Prudential Valuation, Independent Price Verification, Valuation Adjustments, Fair Value Levelling, as well as various analytical and project work.
• Ensure timely remediation of regulatory matters requiring attention, audit findings and reporting demands associated with the area of responsibility.
• Identify valuation parameters or instrument types that may require particular attention with critical analysis of valuation issues involved.
• Demonstrate experience of process automations in the area of derivatives valuations and take a leading role in global, cross-functional projects.
• Develop in-depth knowledge of the bank's analytics, platforms, systems infrastructure in order to provide strategic solutions to VCG's automation requirements.
• Contribute to the directional strategy of the Valuation Control function, anticipating the impact to internal and external stakeholders.

Ideal background:

• 6-10 years of relevant experience in Finance (preferably in Valuations, Product Control, Risk, Financial Control, or similar functions)
• Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
• Can exercise independence of judgement and significant autonomy
• Good command of spoken and written English
• Solid capital markets product knowledge
• University or College degree in economics, finance, mathematics, or a similar relevant discipline
• Strong computer literacy with special regards to Microsoft Excel (VBA and Python being a plus)
