Siemens Mobility, Rolling Stock Division is the North American market leader in the production of passenger coaches, locomotives, and light rail vehicles. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h8nddK1NZSk Position Overview: As a Vehicle Paint Technician, you will support a broad range of activities in a dynamic, high-energy production environment with a strong focus on safety and quality in the fabrication of carbon steel and stainless-steel car bodies for the best rail vehicles in the world. What your day-to-day will look like: Prep, prime, and topcoat light rail vehicles. Hand, block and mechanical sand the car shell for primer and paint. Mask and clean surface for proper adhesion. Primes and undercoats vehicle. General maintenance of equipment. Assists other painters as needed To thrive in this role, you have: High school education or state recognized GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience in a manufacturing or similar environment in painting or similar materials. 1+ years of experience in painting within a manufacturing or similar materials environment Must have basic English skills with the ability to effectively communicate with customers, vendors, contracted services and other employees within the Company. Ability to read, write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, memos and technical documentation. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. The base rate range for this position in Lexington, NC is $16.00/hr - $19.52/hr. The salary may be higher or lower depending on the budget and the candidate's experience, knowledge, skills, and qualifications.
