What you'll do

  • Lead the company’s budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processes to support business goals.
  • Prepare and present timely, decision-ready financial materials, forecasts, and performance narratives for the Executive Team and Board of Directors.
  • Lead financial modeling and business case analysis to support growth initiatives, operational improvements, and capital allocation decisions.
  • Collaborate with FP&A teams and business leaders to communicate financial trends, forecast performance, and recommend course corrections.
  • Partner with executive leaders to improve financial performance through revenue growth, profitability improvements, capital planning, and operational efficiency.
  • Lead the FP&A team through AI transformation, creating efficiency on the team while enhancing business insights.
  • Modernize FP&A processes, data infrastructure, planning tools, and business intelligence capabilities to improve accuracy, speed, scalability, and self-service insights.
  • Drive forecasting accuracy, data quality, and operational excellence across FP&A through clear standards, repeatable processes, and continuous improvement.
  • Lead, coach, and develop the FP&A organization, building a culture of accountability, business partnership, critical thinking, and high-quality execution.
  • Help AvidXchange prepare for and help lead through future sale of the business

  • Typically requires 12+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, strategic finance, investment banking, private equity, corporate development, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience leading enterprise budgeting, forecasting, long-range planning, executive reporting, and financial performance management.
  • Strong financial modeling skills, including experience building integrated three-statement models.
  • Proven ability to serve as a strategic finance partner to executive and cross-functional leaders, connecting operational decisions to financial outcomes.
  • Advanced financial modeling skills.
  • Exceptional organizational judgment and ability to balance recurring planning cadences with multiple high-priority and ad hoc analyses under tight deadlines.
  • Exceptional executive presence and written, verbal, and presentation skills, including experience communicating financial forecasts and recommendations to senior executives and Boards.
  • Proven ability to influence decisions, challenge assumptions constructively, and build alignment across all organizational levels.
  • High professional integrity, intellectual curiosity, attention to detail, and effectiveness in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrated success leading and developing high-performing FP&A teams that deliver accurate, timely, and decision-ready financial insights.

Job Overview

The Vice President of FP&A will play a critical role in shaping the financial strategy and decision-making at AvidXchange. The VP of FP&A connects operational and strategic initiatives to the financial forecast, supports business decision-making through actionable insights, and ensures alignment across functional areas. Leading a high-performing FP&A team, this role combines strategic vision with hands-on execution to drive company growth and enhance organizational performance.

What You’ll Do

What We’re Looking For
