Full description from employer

Hear The Youth

Everyone wants something from young people: attention, votes, or for them to "behave". At Hear The Youth, we flip the mic. We don’t talk about the youth; we talk with them. We operate where culture, creativity, and technology hit. We don’t follow trends; we make them. Not "safe," but sharp, curious, and hyper-present.

As a Visual Designer at Hear The Youth, you are the architect of our visual language. You don’t just "design"; you translate the raw perspective of the youth into bold, artistic identities that cut through the noise. You understand that the youth are already creating the next internet, and you are here to ensure their voice leads the culture. You bridge the gap between high-level brand strategy and authentic, filter-free creation.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Design the narrative: You create original, thoughtful, and outspoken visual concepts that move seamlessly between online and offline media, from brand identities to full-scale campaigns.

  • Merge tech & art: You work fluently with AI tools to enhance your workflow, while never losing sight of the quality, humanity, and artistic soul that makes a design "real".

  • Lead the creative process: You follow structured processes but aren't afraid to sharpen them, taking ownership of your work from the first sketch to the final presentation.

  • Collaborate with the collective: You don't work in a vacuum; you co-create with our team, artists, and the youth themselves, ensuring every pixel resonates with the "main track".

  • Pitch with purpose: You communicate your rationale with conviction, presenting your ideas directly to clients and stakeholders with a sharp, journalistic clarity.

Who you are:

  • Experienced creator: You have at least 3 years of experience at a creative agency and a degree from an art or design academy.

  • Bold & decisive: You speak your truth through your work, making powerful choices and standing by them without filters or apologies.

  • Culturally fluent: You are naturally curious about the world, staying ahead of trends and understanding the codes of youth culture without needing an explanation.

  • Optimistic problem solver: You see challenges as fuel for innovation and possess the empathy to see the world through the eyes of the youth.

  • Communicative team player: You bring positive energy to our collective and are fully proficient in Dutch and English.

What you get:

  • A salary between €3.160 and €4.260 gross (based on 40 hours), depending on experience.

  • A base in the heart of Rotterdam, with the flexibility to work from home.

  • A small, sharp, and multidisciplinary team where we move as a collective

  • 25 vacation days, a pension scheme, and an NS Business Card if you live outside Rotterdam.

  • Daily lunch at the office, Handpicked shares, team outings, and events like the Handpicked Festival.
