The role

What will you be doing?

As our Web Optimisation Specialist, you'll take ownership of the day-to-day performance, optimisation and continuous improvement of unum.co.uk. Sitting within the Marketing team, you'll play a key role in ensuring our website delivers an excellent user experience, supports business objectives and remains accurate, accessible and effective. This is a hands-on role where you'll work across website management, SEO, user experience and conversion optimisation, making practical improvements that drive measurable results.

You'll:

○ Maintain and update website content, ensuring accuracy, consistency and alignment with brand and marketing objectives.

○ Support the ongoing evolution of unum.co.uk, helping shape and implement improvements to site structure, navigation and user journeys.

○ Partner with our digital agency and internal stakeholders to deliver website enhancements that improve customer experience and business performance.

○ Monitor website performance, analyse user behaviour and identify opportunities to improve engagement, conversion and usability.

○ Implement SEO best practices and technical recommendations to help improve search visibility and organic performance.

○ Deliver Conversion Rate Optimisation (CRO) initiatives, including page improvements, content updates, testing activity and journey enhancements.

○ Support backlog management and sprint planning, helping prioritise website developments in line with marketing objectives.

○ Ensure website content and functionality meet WCAG AA accessibility standards and digital best practice requirements.

○ Act as a key contact for website updates, troubleshooting issues and ensuring a consistently high-quality user experience.

○ Stay up to date with digital marketing, website optimisation and user experience trends, bringing forward ideas for continuous improvement.

What will you bring?

We're looking for someone who combines strong technical capability with a passion for creating better digital experiences. You'll enjoy working with detail, solving problems and making practical website improvements that deliver measurable impact.

You'll ideally have:

○ Experience managing and updating website content within a content management system.

○ A strong understanding of website optimisation principles, including SEO, CRO and user experience best practice.

○ Experience implementing SEO recommendations and supporting improvements to website performance.

○ Strong attention to detail, with the ability to maintain high standards of accuracy across web content and digital journeys.

○ Confidence analysing website data and performance metrics to identify opportunities for improvement.

○ Experience working with digital agencies or multiple stakeholders to deliver website enhancements and projects.

○ Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver against deadlines.

○ An understanding of website accessibility standards and a commitment to creating inclusive digital experiences.

○ Experience of headless CMS platforms, such as Kontent.ai, would be advantageous.

○ A proactive mindset with the confidence to identify opportunities, recommend improvements and take ownership of delivery.

○ Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to build strong working relationships across teams.

○ A genuine interest in digital marketing, website performance and continuous improvement.

Location

Hybrid working. 3 days in office, 2 days from home. From office locations in Dorking, London or Basingstoke.
