  • Accurate and balanced reporting of news stories following company standards for journalistic integrity and quality
  • Delivery of clear, accurate, & relevant weather information on-air and online both on a daily basis and during severe weather events.
  • Contact news sources, set up interviews, conduct research, attend news events, then relay that information to an audience in clear, relevant, fair and accurate stories for on-air or for digital platforms.
  • Shoot, write, and edit stories ensuring accuracy, clarity, and strong storytelling
  • Contributes to our digital platforms by writing web articles, producing/hosting programs for our CTV streaming app and producing reels for our social accounts, and relay information on digital and social media platforms during severe weather events.
  • Creatively present stories in ways that engage today’s audiences, tailoring content for different devices and platforms
  • Must be able to ad-lib breaking news fluently with a strong ability to interact with anchors
  • Collaborate with photographer, producer, assignment desk on live shots as needed
  • Attend editorial meetings and regularly pitches original story ideas
  • Make calls, gather information, and set up interviews with news sources
  • Groom sources to break stories and to provide leads for stories
  • Produce and anchor weather casts, primarily for weekend newscasts, but also for other casts as needed

The Weekend Meteorologist/Multimedia Journalist Reporter reports during the week and anchor weather during the weekend and to cover other weather shifts as needed.  The successful candidate will need to be able to both report general news stories across all platforms and also relay weather information in a clear, easy-to-understand, accurate manner.  This candidate must enterprise stories that connect with audiences across all devices and platforms.  The candidate also needs to excel in ad-libbing, storytelling, shooting, writing, and editing local stories, and be able to participate in live streaming programs.

Produces, reports, shoots, writes, voices, edits and feeds news production content for all platforms in a manner that is clear, engaging and meaningful to news consumers.

  • RESPONSIBILITIES:
