Year 2 Class Teacher

About the Role

As the Year 2 Class Teacher, you will take full responsibility for a vibrant and enthusiastic class, planning, delivering, and assessing lessons in line with the National Curriculum.

You will create a stimulating classroom environment that encourages curiosity, confidence, and a love of learning. Furthermore, you will work closely with colleagues and support staff to ensure every child receives the support and challenge they need to succeed.

The school is looking for a teacher who can quickly become part of the team, build strong relationships with pupils and parents, and make a positive contribution to the wider school community.

Key Responsibilities

• Take full responsibility for a Year 2 class.
• Plan and deliver engaging lessons across the primary curriculum.
• Assess, monitor, and track pupil progress.
• Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils.
• Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
• Maintain high expectations of behaviour and achievement.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff, and parents.
• Support pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful applicant will:

• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Have experience teaching within Key Stage 1.
• Demonstrate strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
• Have a thorough understanding of the primary curriculum.
• Be passionate about delivering high-quality teaching and learning.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
• Be organised, proactive, and committed to achieving excellent outcomes.
