The role can be based in any of the 3 IMI locations in China: Suzhou, Beijing or Shanghai

Role Overview
The Regional Internal Controller for APAC Region plays a key role within both the Sector Operations Finance team and the Finance teams across all Sectors. The role is responsible for ensuring the processes and controls required to deliver accurate financial reporting are in place and aligned with Group policies.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver a number of Internal Audit reviews each year on behalf of Group Assurance
• Carry out a series of monthly checks to validate accuracy of financial reporting and confirm key account reconciliations have been performed
• Work with finance professionals in the region as part of a schedule of balance sheet reviews
• Ensure adherence to key IMI financial reporting policies as part of P6 and P12 external reporting
• Develop controls frameworks to address significant risks within the region
• Partner with Operations leaders to manage costs and drive Working Capital efficiency
• Provide independent challenge on capital expenditure business cases and rationalisation plans to ensure they are robustly supported and benefits can be measured
• Support the Internal Control Declaration for the region, as well as drive timely completion of any internal control or audit actions.
• Identify, share and implement best practice across the region to improve business efficiency.

Critical Competencies

• Comfortable operating within a matrix organisation, with the ability to independently manage priorities, workload and deadlines with minimal day-to-day supervision.
• Experienced in working across multiple ERP environments, with the ability to evaluate risk and assess the effectiveness of both automated and manual controls.
• Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels and tailor written and verbal communication to maximise impact.
• A proactive self-starter who can independently conduct process walkthroughs to understand, document and assess end-to-end business processes, such as Procure-to-Pay and Order-to-Cash, within the IMI environment, including where processes are not formally documented.
• Capable of understanding the broader business implications of issues and developing practical, cross-functional solutions that extend beyond Finance.
