Assistant Manager - Enterprise IT
About this role
POSITION OVERVIEW
We require an experienced L2 Windows Domain & Backup Engineer to manage and maintain enterprise Windows environments along with backup and recovery infrastructure. The role includes Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and core Windows services, along with enterprise backup administration, monitoring, and recovery operations. The engineer will also perform assessments, reporting, compliance activities, and enable automation using scripting/AI tools.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Windows Infrastructure Management
- Administer Active Directory (Users, Groups, GPOs, OU structure)
- Maintain DNS, DHCP, and RADIUS (NPS) services
- Manage Windows Server environments (2016/2019/2022) including installation, configuration, and upgrades
- Ensure high availability and performance optimization of Windows infrastructure
Backup Administration
- Manage and monitor enterprise backup solutions (e.g., NetBackup, BackupExec, Veeam, Commvault, or similar)
- Perform backup scheduling, configuration, and policy management for servers, databases, and applications
- Ensure successful completion of daily backups and troubleshoot failed backup jobs
- Perform data restoration (file-level, VM-level, and application-level) as per business requirements
- Conduct regular backup validation and restoration drills to ensure recoverability
- Manage backup storage, retention policies, and archival processes
- Optimize backup performance and storage utilization
- Coordinate with application and infrastructure teams during backup and restore activities
- Ensure DR readiness by supporting disaster recovery drills and failover testing
- Maintain backup reports, logs, and documentation
Security & Vulnerability Management
- Perform Windows patch management (monthly/critical updates)
- Identify and remediate vulnerabilities using tools like Qualys/Nessus
- Ensure SLA-based closure of vulnerabilities
- Implement server hardening best practices
- Ensure backup data security, encryption, and access controls
- Ensure compliance with ISO 27001 and internal policies
- Prepare documentation for audits (including backup and recovery evidence)
- Track audit findings and remediation
- Maintain security and backup baselines
Incident & Change Management
- Handle L2/L3 incidents related to Windows infrastructure and backup systems
- Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for failures (including backup failures)
- Support change management processes for infra and backup changes
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Technical Skills: Strong experience in Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, RADIUS/NPS; Windows Server (2016/2019/2022/2025); patch management tools (WSUS/SCCM/Intune/Bigfix)
Backup Tools: Experience in enterprise backup tools (NetBackup, Veeam, Commvault, etc.)
Security: Knowledge of ISO 27001 and security frameworks; experience with vulnerability tools (Qualys, Nessus)
Scripting: PowerShell scripting for automation
Certifications (Preferred): Microsoft certifications (MCSA, Azure Admin); certifications in backup technologies (Veeam/Commvault/NetBackup)
Environment: Experience in enterprise multi-domain environments; exposure to hybrid environments (on-prem + Azure/GCP); exposure to AI/automation tools
