DESCRIPTION

Join our team as an Import/Export Specialist at Thermo Fisher Scientific, where you will contribute to managing international logistics operations for Chemicals and consumables. You will coordinate all aspects of importing and exporting goods while ensuring compliance with international trade regulations and quality standards with focus on Export of Chemicals. In collaboration with internal teams and external partners, you will optimize logistics processes, manage documentation, and support continuous improvement in our global supply chain operations. This position offers the opportunity to contribute directly to our mission of enabling customers to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for custom clearance activity for Air/Courier and Sea shipments
  • Coordinate with Custom House Agent for clearance activity
  • Ensure cargo is cleared from Customs on time as per TAT and set objectives
  • Coordinate with Freight forwarder for cargo pickup and follow up for expediting shipments
  • Coordinate with Order Processing team and Warehouse operations for required documents for pickup and custom clearance activities as per regulations
  • Establishing a single point of contact for all Export related coordination for Chemicals and communicating with all the stakeholders
  • Maintain sound understanding of commercial documentation such as B/L, AWB, Invoice, packing list, HS codes, COO, Incoterms etc. related to Import/Export for smooth custom clearance.
  • Coordinating with Order processing team and Compliance team for licenses coordination for regulatory products.
  • Ensure timely Duty Miro and GRN are completed for smooth billing process
  • Ensure Shipper/Service Vendor bills are timely checked and submitted to AP team for payment process
  • Maintain strong business relationships with the vendors/factories/suppliers.
  • Responsible for advance closure of custom duty within 5 days of advance request
  • Adhere to proper compliance and ethical practice in all areas related to operations
  • Provide KPI reporting on Clearance TAT and Transit TAT and sharing pre alerts with overseas customers
  • Prepare MIS data to reflect cost and status of shipments and update periodically
  • Track and share daily reports on Shipment and updates with stakeholders

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management or related discipline required
  • 3-4 years of experience post qualification in similar role
  • Previous experience in EXIM in a similar role is preferred
  • Strong knowledge of international trade regulations, customs procedures, and    documentation requirements and FTAs.
  • Expertise in DG goods packing and shipping and IATA DG certification is preferred.
  • Hands-on working knowledge of SAP MM Module preferred but not essential.
  • Proficiency in logistics management systems and trade compliance software
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with strong numerical ability
  • Outstanding oral and written communication and coordination skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a professional environment
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy in documentation
  • Fluency in English required, additional language skills advantageous
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and prepare detailed reports
  • Knowledge of Incoterms and international shipping requirements
  • Understanding of business processes and revenue cycle with drive to meet    business goals in challenging environment
