Position Summary:
The Meinders School of Business at Oklahoma City University is seeking part-time Adjunct Instructors in Accounting to teach undergraduate and/or graduate-level courses on an as-needed basis. This is a temporary, part-time position. Courses may be delivered in-person or online depending on departmental needs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality instruction in accounting, ensuring engaging and effective learning experiences for students.
- Develop and deliver course materials that align with the university’s curriculum and learning objectives.
- Assess student performance through assignments, exams, and projects, providing timely and constructive feedback.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and submit grades in accordance with university policies.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student success.
- Adhere to academic integrity and ethical teaching practices, following university and department policies.
Qualifications:
- A master’s degree in Accounting or a closely related field is required. A CPA, CMA, or PhD is preferred.
- Previous teaching experience at the college or university level is preferred.
- Professional experience in accounting, auditing, taxation, or related fields is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, accounting software, and online learning platforms (e.g., Canvas, Blackboard) for course delivery.
- Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to engage diverse student populations.
Additional Information:
- Courses are primarily held at the Meinders School of Business on OCU’s main campus. Some online teaching opportunities may be available.
- Teaching assignments may include daytime and evening classes, depending on scheduling needs.
- Adjunct faculty residing outside Oklahoma may teach remotely if they reside in one of the university-approved states: Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, Missouri, New Mexico, Oregon, or Virginia.
- All university employees must complete a criminal background check and mandatory training.
