About this role

Sword is a leading provider of business technology solutions within the Energy, Public and Finance Sectors, driving transformational change within our clients. We use proven technology, specialist teams and domain expertise to build solid technical foundations across platforms, data, and business applications. We have a passion for using technology to solve business problems, working in partnership with our clients to help in achieving their goals.

About the role:

We're looking for a motivated Bid Coordinator to join our busy and successful bid team. This is an ideal opportunity for someone at the start of their career, or with some exposure to bid or commercial processes, to develop their skills in a fast-paced and supportive environment.

You'll play a key supporting role in coordinating bids and proposals, learning from experienced colleagues and helping to deliver high-quality submissions that contribute to Sword's continued success.

  • Support the coordination and administration of bids and proposals in line with the Sword Tender Process and timelines
  • Assist in gathering input and managing contributions from stakeholders across the business
  • Format, proofread and edit non-technical content for bid responses
  • Help maintain the bid response library and upload content to the Bid Management platform
  • Support internal reviews and approvals to ensure timely and compliant submissions
  • Assist with opportunity tracking and updating the bid pipeline
  • Contribute to client presentations and pitch preparation where required
  • Collaborate with senior Bid Managers on major bids, learning about qualification, win themes and strategy
  • Monitor tender portals and flag new opportunities to the team
  • Work with the wider team to help ensure quality, consistency and adherence to submission requirements
  • Build effective working relationships with internal teams and support strong external communications

Requirements

 Essential Skills:

  • A demonstrable interest in bids, proposals, or commercial writing — prior experience is helpful but not essential
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a good eye for detail
  • Highly organised, able to manage deadlines and prioritise tasks
  • Proactive and willing to learn in a fast-paced team environment
  • Competent with Microsoft Office, particularly Word and PowerPoint
  • Comfortable working with colleagues across different teams and levels of seniority
  • A positive attitude and a desire to grow your career in bid and proposal management

Desirable Skills:

  • Familiarity with bid management tools, CRM systems or tender portals.
  • Basic understanding of public and private sector procurement processes.
  • Experience of document control, content management or proposal writing.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Educated to Higher, A-Level or equivalent qualification level.
