Business Technology Solutions Consultant

We are seeking an experienced and client-ready Data Engineer Consultant with 5–7 years of professional experience to join our Business Technology Solutions – Supply Chain & Manufacturing team. The successful candidate will bring deep technical expertise in cloud data platforms, Python, and SQL, combined with a proven ability to lead technical delivery engagements end-to-end. In this role, you will translate business requirements into robust solution designs and architectures, lead engineering teams through implementation, and serve as the senior technical voice in client engagements. You will be expected to mentor a team of data engineers / cross-functional analysts, enforce best practices across design, code, and testing, and consistently deliver high-quality outcomes as per planned project timelines.

What you’ll do:

• Translate complex business requirements into actionable solution designs and technical architectures, owning the end-to-end solution from discovery through UAT and production launches.
• Lead one or more concurrent projects as the primary technical delivery owner, working in close partnership with the project manager on planning, staffing, risk identification, and milestone management.
• Align cross-functional teams — including business analysts, architects, validation / testing, and engineering — on the right technology stack and solution approach for each engagement.
• Own the quality and completeness of all key project deliverables: business case, solution vision and design documentation, technical architecture, test cases, deployment plans, and operations strategy.
• Serve as the primary technical point of contact for client stakeholders — leading design reviews, status updates, brainstorming sessions, and innovation discussions.
• Conduct regular design, code, and testing reviews to enforce best practices and ensure all implementations meet quality, performance, and maintainability standards.
• Mentor and develop a team of associate consultants and engineers, setting technical direction, reviewing output, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
• Drive adoption of best-in-class coding practices, data quality frameworks, and validation approaches to ensure reliable and impactful business insights.
• Build and deliver cloud-based data engineering solutions including ETL/ELT pipelines, serverless architectures, real-time and batch analytics, and data lake/warehouse implementations.
• Partner with senior leadership on business development activities, POV development, and building firm intellectual capital on emerging technologies and business solution areas.
• Lead structured and unstructured problem-solving exercises to design and optimize complex, high-performance solutions.
• Ensure all SDLC documentation is accurate, complete, and supports both the delivery team and client governance requirements.

What you’ll bring:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline.
• 5-7 years of hands-on experience as a data engineer, with at least 2 years in a client-facing consulting or professional services environment.
• Deep expertise in cloud data platforms – like AWS (EMR, Glue, S3, Athena, Redshift, LakeFormation, Managed Airflow, SageMaker), Azure (ADF, Synapse, ADLS), Databricks, Snowflake.
• Strong experience with data modeling, data warehousing concepts, and distributed computing frameworks (Spark/PySpark).
• Strong design and programming proficiency in Python and SQL; ability to design solutions, perform in depth data analysis and write production-grade code and perform rigorous code reviews.
• Proven track record designing and delivering end-to-end data engineering solutions at scale, including complex ETL/ELT pipelines, data warehouses, and lakehouse architectures.
• Experience leading technical delivery teams – managing project planning, effort estimation, work distribution, and progress tracking in an SDLC or Agile delivery setup.
• Demonstrated ability to interact directly with senior to mid-senior client stakeholders, present technical concepts clearly, and manage engagement delivery expectations.
• Working knowledge of AI tools and platforms is preferred (e.g., use of AI-assisted development, LLM-based tooling, model integration into data pipelines).
• Experience in supply chain or manufacturing domain is a strong plus.
• Hands-on AI engineering or agentic development experience (LLM orchestration, RAG pipelines, AI agents) is a significant differentiator and will be considered a strong plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills – able to tailor messaging from engineering-level detail to business understandable / executive summaries.
• Ability to distill complex technical architectures into clear frameworks, diagrams, and presentations for diverse audiences.
• Strong coaching, mentorship, and team-building capabilities; comfortable developing mid-level engineers.
• Comfortable operating in a global, matrixed team environment across time zones.
• Knowledge of graph databases (Neo4j, AWS Neptune) and ontologies (RDF-based) is a plus.
• We operate in a hybrid setup and candidate’s in-office presence would be required based on the same. Travel to client sites may also be required.
• Capable of managing a virtual global team for the timely delivery of multiple projects
• Experienced in analyzing and troubleshooting interactions between databases, operating systems, and applications
• Travel to global offices as required to collaborate with clients and internal project teams
