What you'll do

  • Develop, manage, and execute global category strategies for Plastic aligned with Hunter Douglas business objectives and stakeholder needs.
  • Lead end-to-end competitive sourcing events, including requirements gathering, market analysis, bidding, supplier selection, negotiation, contracting, and ongoing supplier management.
  • Negotiate commercial terms with suppliers and deliver year-over-year cost reductions, payment-term improvements, and other value-added opportunities that contribute to Hunter Douglas’s P&L.
  • Manage supplier relationships and conduct periodic business reviews to ensure service-level adherence, continuous improvement, and achievement of agreed performance objectives.
  • Analyze category spend and market intelligence to identify new savings, productivity, material, service, and operational improvement opportunities.
  • Establish and monitor supplier performance metrics and KPIs, using data-driven insights to improve supplier performance and compliance.
  • Serve as a trusted business advisor to stakeholders by providing procurement guidance, industry intelligence, market trends, and best practices to support future category strategies.
  • Collaborate with Global Procurement, Supply Chain, R&D, Quality, PMO, and Plant Operations teams to implement strategic initiatives and support business growth opportunities.

  • Working knowledge of SAP/ERP/MRP systems and their application within a manufacturing environment.

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, presentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

Position Overview

The HD Category Procurement Manager – Plastic will develop and execute a global procurement strategy for the Plastic category across Hunter Douglas businesses. This role will manage category spend and supplier relationships while identifying year-over-year productivity, cost reduction, material, service, and operational improvement opportunities that contribute directly to the company’s P&L. The position will partner closely with Procurement, Supply Chain, R&D, Quality, PMO, and Plant Operations to deliver strategic value and strengthen supplier performance.
