About this role

Liquid Personnel is recruiting for an experienced Children's Occupational Therapist to join a specialist Local Authority service in Manchester.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Children's OT with experience of complex equipment, adaptations and moving and handling, supporting children with physical and hidden disabilities to maximise independence, safety and participation at home.

What will your responsibilities be?

  • Carry out comprehensive Occupational Therapy assessments for children across Manchester with complex physical and hidden disabilities
  • Complete detailed home assessments to identify functional needs, environmental risks and barriers to independence
  • Assess and recommend complex and bespoke specialist equipment to meet individual needs
  • Complete minor and major adaptation assessments, making recommendations to enable children to remain safe and participate within their homes
  • Undertake complex moving and handling risk assessments, providing advice and practical training to parents and carers
  • Assess and prescribe specialist seating for children aged 0–18 with complex postural and positioning needs
  • Complete complex safety assessments and recommend solutions including safe spaces, fencing, padded rooms, locks and specialist beds
  • Assess for major adaptations including through-floor lifts, additional toilets, specialist baths, showers and bathing equipment
  • Work collaboratively with children, parents, carers and wider health and social care professionals to develop person-centred solutions
  • Provide clear professional recommendations and ensure equipment and adaptations appropriately meet assessed needs
  • Manage a complex caseload effectively while maintaining accurate and timely clinical records

Qualifications & Experience:

To be successful in this role you must have, 

  • Eligible to work in the UK
  • Hold a full UK driving licence
  • Post-qualified experience
  • HCPC-registered
  • Occupational Therapy Degree/Diploma
  • Children's OT / Specialist Equipment & Adaptations
