  • Execute CxL2 - CxL6 commissioning tasks on Tier 1 Data Centre sites alongside Vertiv Project & Commissioning Managers.
  • Perform commissioning, testing, and handover of LV switchgear panels including ACBs and MCCBs, primary & secondary injection testing, and flash testing across industrial and data centre projects.
  • Build trusted customer relationships through professional, solutions-focused interactions; provide technical guidance and on-site supervision to contractors and junior engineers.
  • Interface with internal procurement for additional material requirements; ensure all site documentation is signed off by relevant parties and uploaded to client portals in a timely manner.
  • Travel to various sites across Western Australia, including remote locations (valid Driver's Licence required); undertake overnight or extended travel as project demands require.
  • Travel to other regions as required.
  • Work safely on and around energised electrical equipment, live refrigerant lines, and pressure vessels, adhering strictly to all safety protocols, licensing requirements, and LOTO procedures.

Position Summary

The Commissioning Field Supervisor -Power, Thermal & LV Switchgear is a multi-disciplinary technical role within Vertiv's Asia Service - APAC ANZ division. Based in Western Australia, you will serve as the on-the-ground technical authority for end-to-end commissioning across Vertiv's full critical infrastructure portfolio including Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS), Static Transfer Switches (STS), precision cooling systems (CRAC, CRAH, Fan Wall Units, Coolant Distribution Units), and Low Voltage Switchgear (2000 - 6200A, 415Vac). Operating across large-scale, mission-critical environments including Tier 1 Data Centres, you will combine deep technical expertise across Power, Thermal, and Switchgear disciplines for commissioning activities in the WA region.

Key Responsibilities Planning & Reporting

  • Work at heights (Work at Heights Training required, refreshed every 5 years), in confined/restricted spaces, and within HVAC mechanical systems in awkward body positions as required.
  • Undertake manual handling tasks (lifting, carrying, relocating equipment such as compressors, gas bottles, and switchgear components) in accordance with WHS guidelines.
  • Comply with all Work, Health & Safety, Environment, and Quality obligations; actively champion a safety-first culture by identifying, reporting, and mitigating workplace hazards.
  • Site-based role with full flexibility to work additional hours on request.

Specialist Knowledge

  • Strong technical knowledge across Data Centres, Telecommunications, Commercial, and Industrial environments.
  • Working knowledge of electrical drawings, control systems, and product-specific software; solid understanding of controls, networking, and thermal systems.
  • Electrical & Refrigeration background with experience in troubleshooting across Power, Thermal, and Switchboard systems.

Practical Experience

  • Proven track record within the Critical Power and the Precision Cooling industry as a commissioning or service technician, with the ability to work under timeline constraints on large-scale sites.
  • Competency in primary & secondary injection testing, flash testing, and electrical panel testing & fault finding.
  • Good working knowledge of LV Switchgear, protection devices, and safe isolation/electrical safety practices.
  • Experience across the full Commissioning Cycle: CxL2 – CxL6.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
