About this role

Summary: Shape, plan and deliver strategic communications and service offering, drive stakeholder engagement, and bring fresh ideas in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Join a leading APAC organisation as a Communications Specialist where you'll combine strategic thinking with hands-on delivery to build communications capability and deliver impactful communications that connect people to business priorities.

This is an opportunity for an experienced communications professional who thrives in an autonomous environment, builds trusted relationships across all levels of the business, and isn't afraid to challenge the status quo with innovative ideas. You'll play a key role in shaping internal and external communications capability and service offering, managing key channels and events, and helping drive engagement across Australia and New Zealand.

About the Role

  • Develop and mature communications capability and service offering aligned to strategic objectives
  • Develop and deliver strategic internal and external communication plans aligned with organisational priorities.
  • Create compelling content across multiple channels including intranet, newsletters, email communications, social media, websites and presentations.
  • Build, maintain and optimise SharePoint sites, ensuring content is accessible, engaging and aligned to governance standards.
  • Coordinate and deliver major employee engagement initiatives and events, including Town Halls, R U OK? Day and Safety Week.
  • Partner with stakeholders across Australia and New Zealand to uncover stories, translate complex information and develop meaningful communications.
  • Prepare communication materials, briefing packs and presentations for senior leaders and executives.
  • Support enterprise initiatives, organisational change and business transformation activities through effective communication strategies.
  • Monitor communication effectiveness and use insights, analytics and feedback to continuously improve outcomes.
  • Maintain external-facing website content and support social media planning and delivery.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development and maturity of the communications function through process improvement and innovative thinking.
  • Work in a hybrid environment with a minimum of three days per week in the Rowville office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute integrated communication and content plans across internal and external channels.
  • Manage editorial calendars and deliver high-quality written communications including newsletters, leader updates, presentations and campaign materials.
  • Build trusted relationships with stakeholders at all levels, providing communications advice and guidance.
  • Source and develop engaging business stories by proactively engaging with teams across the organisation.
  • Own and maintain SharePoint sites, intranet content and communication assets.
  • Coordinate communications for key business initiatives, ensuring messages are clear, timely and aligned to organisational objectives.
  • Deliver end-to-end communication support for internal events and employee engagement programs.
  • Ensure all communications maintain brand consistency, quality and accessibility standards.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Safety, Technology, People & Culture and operational teams to support business objectives.
  • Track communication performance and provide recommendations to improve engagement and effectiveness.
  • Adapt quickly to changing priorities and manage multiple projects in a dynamic and sometimes ambiguous environment
