What you'll do

  • Develop application layer software for Drive controls for GE Power Conversion drives.
  • Define application requirements, architecture, specifications, and/or design and validation of inverter drive systems and auxiliary control architectures.
  • Design, develop, and troubleshoot HMI screens for operator interfaces and system monitoring; ensure usability and alignment with customer requirements.
  • Implement and integrate communication protocols (MODBUS, EGD, Fastlink, etc.) for device-to-device and system-level communication; troubleshoot protocol-related issues.
  • Execute design, analysis, and evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product/program requirements.
  • Work autonomously on assigned tasks; proactively identify risks, plan activities, and escalate issues to manager or senior team members when guidance is needed.
  • Document technical data generated by assigned projects consistent with engineering policies and procedures.
  • Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments.
  • Participate in teams assigned to address organizational initiatives and generic issues.
  • Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews.

  • Good understanding of C, C++, Python, MATLAB, and Simulink.

  • Medium-level experience in HMI screen development (design, implementation, and testing).
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience with communication protocols (MODBUS, EGD, Fastlink, or similar industrial protocols).

  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, take ownership of work, plan activities, and anticipate potential issues.
