An exciting opportunity has arisen with a leading international professional services firm that advises a diverse client base ranging from large multinational organisations to fast-growing mid-market businesses. The firm is continuing to invest in its Indirect Tax and Trade offering and is seeking an experienced Customs Manager or Senior Manager to help deliver and drive further growth across the Midlands market. This is a highly visible role within a collaborative and ambitious team that works on complex cross-border trade and customs matters.

Your new role

As a Customs Manager / Senior Manager, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality customs and international trade advisory services to a varied portfolio of clients.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Advising clients on customs duty, import/export processes, customs compliance and wider international trade matters.
• Supporting businesses with customs strategy, risk management and operational improvements.
• Managing and developing client relationships, acting as a trusted adviser on complex customs issues.
• Identifying opportunities to provide additional advisory services and supporting business development initiatives.
• Leading and mentoring junior team members, helping to develop technical capability within the team.
• Working closely with colleagues across tax, advisory and assurance functions to provide integrated solutions for clients.
• Taking ownership of project delivery, ensuring work is completed to a high technical standard and within agreed timeframes

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

• Significant experience in Customs Duty and International Trade advisory.
• Experience gained within a professional services, consulting or in-house trade environment.
• Strong technical knowledge of UK customs legislation and international trade regulations.
• A proven track record of managing client relationships and delivering practical, commercial advice.
• Excellent project management and stakeholder management skills.
• The ability to identify business development opportunities and contribute to practice growth.
• Strong leadership skills with experience coaching and developing junior colleagues.
• Relevant professional qualifications would be advantageous, although applicants with strong practical customs expertise are also encouraged to apply.
