  • Support broker performance reviews and help drive continuous improvement initiatives across the customs function

We are working as the internal recruitment partner for our client, a global organisation providing specialist supply chain and logistics solutions to the aerospace industry.

Due to continued growth and international expansion, we are seeking a Customs Compliance Officer to join the Global Customs Compliance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a customs professional to take ownership of customs compliance activities across multiple international regions, acting as the key link between freight partners, customs brokers, warehouse operations, finance, and logistics teams

Working within a global environment, you will play a vital role in ensuring customs processes remain compliant, supporting the smooth movement of goods internationally, and managing relationships with customs brokers across various territories

Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day communication with customs brokers and freight partners across international regions
  • Provide accurate shipment information and documentation to support customs clearance activities
  • Monitor shipments through customs processes, proactively resolving delays and queries
  • Classify products using appropriate tariff and commodity codes
  • Support customs compliance activities relating to duty, VAT, and preferential origin requirements
  • Monitor changes in customs regulations and support process improvements where required
  • Liaise with warehouse, logistics, sales, and finance teams to ensure customs compliance standards are maintained
  • Assist with duty deferment reconciliation and customs-related audits

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Previous experience within customs compliance, international trade, freight forwarding, logistics, or customs brokerage (Desirable)
  • Knowledge of tariff classification, customs procedures, and import/export documentation
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships across internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to investigate and resolve customs-related queries and documentation issues
  • Excellent organisation skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
  • Comfortable working independently within a fast-paced environment
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and Excel
  • Experience within aerospace, aviation, freight forwarding, or a regulated logistics environment would be advantageous
  • Knowledge of international customs processes, including EU, US, or Canadian markets, would be beneficial

  • Competitive salary £30,000 - £40,000 (depending on experience)
