  • Providing strategic leadership and oversight of trade compliance activities across European sites while supporting trade compliance initiatives and business needs globally.
  • Developing, implementing, and continuously improving a comprehensive trade compliance program to ensure compliance with applicable import and export controls, customs regulations, sanctions, trade agreements, and other international trade requirements.
  • Providing guidance and oversight as the primary trade compliance leader for European sites, identifying and mitigating trade-related risks, driving consistent processes and controls, and enabling efficient and compliant movement of products across international borders.
  • Establishing effective governance, influencing business decisions, and promoting a strong culture of trade compliance and integrity with cross-functional partners.
  • Partnering with global stakeholders to drive alignment, automation, standardization, and operational excellence across the organization.

  • Demonstrated experience developing, implementing, and leading trade compliance programs across multiple sites or countries
  • Ability to translate complex trade regulations into practical business processes, controls, and risk mitigation strategies
  • Proven ability to develop, standardize, and continuously improve policies, procedures, and SOPs
  • Strong experience conducting trade compliance risk assessments, internal reviews, and audits and driving corrective actions
  • Experience with trade compliance systems and tools, such as OneSource, SAP GTS, or similar platforms
  • Strong project and change management capabilities, with demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional and multi-site initiatives
  • Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and collaborate effectively across Supply Chain, Logistics, Procurement, Commercial, Finance, Legal, and other functions
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify compliance risks and develop pragmatic solutions
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex trade compliance requirements to diverse audiences
  • Demonstrated ability to operate independently, set priorities, and provide leadership across a geographically dispersed organization

DESCRIPTION

Join our Protein Diagnostics business in Birmingham as a Senior Manager, Global Trade Compliance, where you'll provide strategic leadership and oversight of trade compliance activities across our European sites while supporting trade compliance initiatives and business needs globally.

RESPONSIBILITIES

You'll be responsible for developing, implementing, and continuously improving a comprehensive trade compliance program to ensure compliance with applicable import and export controls, customs regulations, sanctions, trade agreements, and other international trade requirements. As the primary trade compliance leader for our European sites, you'll provide guidance and oversight, identify and mitigate trade-related risks, drive consistent processes and controls, and enable the efficient and compliant movement of products across international borders.

Working with cross-functional partners, you'll establish effective governance, influence business decisions, and promote a strong culture of trade compliance and integrity. You'll also partner with global stakeholders to drive alignment, automation, standardization, and operational excellence across the organization.

REQUIREMENTS
