Job Description
Ready for a sizzling career move? You will play a pivotal role in our Birdie Bar & Brasserie working alongside a fantastic team. The food you prepare, cook and serve makes our guests smile and wanting more.
Key responsibilities include:
- Prepare and cook all food orders in line with kitchen recipes and standards with a sense of urgency
- Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, cleanliness and equipment care.
- Monitor stock requirements, minimise wastage and support effective food cost control.
- Assist with menu preparation and ensure adequate supplies are available for service.
- Lead by example, support the kitchen team and assist in training and developing apprentices.
- Communicate proactively with the Head Chef/Supervisor to ensure smooth and productive service.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Trade qualification and experience in a similar role, preferably within a hotel environment.
- Excellent technical knowledge with experience in a variety of cooking techniques and styles.
- A passion for learning and career development
- Exemplary communication skills.
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Ability to maintain high and consistent standards.
- Valid Australian working rights
- The flexibility to work across a rotating roster including early mornings, evenings, weekend & public holidays
