Deputy Manager

Banana Moon Longford, a well-established nursery based in Coventry, serving a diverse local community, is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Nursery Manager to join our team. As the Deputy Nursery Manager, you will work closely with the Nursery Manager and maintain responsibility as a Room Leader, while also taking responsibility for the day-to-day management of the nursery in the Manager's absence. You will be responsible for providing a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment for children, overseeing the implementation of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum, and ensuring the smooth running of nursery operations.

Key responsibilities:

• Support the Nursery Manager in the day-to-day running of the nursery and lead the setting in their absence.
• Ensure the highest standards of childcare, safeguarding, and wellbeing for all children.
• Lead, inspire, and support the nursery team to deliver outstanding care and learning experiences.
• Oversee the planning and delivery of a stimulating curriculum in line with the EYFS framework.
• Monitor staffing ratios and contribute to the effective organisation of staff rotas.
• Build positive and professional relationships with children, families, colleagues, and external professionals.
• Maintain compliance with nursery policies, health and safety requirements, and regulatory standards.
• Support continuous improvement across the nursery through staff development, training, and quality assurance initiatives.

Requirements

• Minimum Level 3 Early Years qualification (or above).
• Previous experience in a senior childcare role, such as Room Leader, Third in Charge, or Deputy Manager.
• Strong knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and safeguarding requirements.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
• Good understanding of health and safety, child protection, and regulatory requirements.
• Commitment to promoting an inclusive environment that values diversity and supports every child's individual needs.
• Enhanced DBS clearance is required for this role.
