Director, Product Management - Tokenization

Role Summary

The Director, Product Management – Tokenization is responsible for defining and executing the strategic vision, product roadmap, and commercialization of tokenization solutions across the digital payment ecosystems. This role will lead the product development, deployment and scaling of tokenization capabilities that enhance payment security, enable digital experiences, support ecosystem partners, and drive payment innovation.
The successful candidate will collaborate closely with issuing and acquiring partners, card schemes, digital wallet providers, merchants, fintechs, technology teams, risk, compliance, and external stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable, and commercially successful tokenization products.

Key Responsibilities

Product Strategy & Leadership
- Define and own the tokenization product strategy aligned with business objectives and market opportunities.
- Act as a support function to the markets and help accelerate market plans
- Develop and maintain a multi-year product roadmap for payment tokenization services.
- Identify emerging industry trends, technologies, regulations, and competitive developments impacting tokenization and digital payments.
- Drive innovation across card-on-file, network tokenization, wallet tokenization, merchant tokenization, and device token solutions.
- Lead product prioritization and investment decisions based on customer needs, market potential, and business value.

Product Development & Delivery

- Lead end-to-end product lifecycle management from ideation through launch and optimization.
- Partner with technology, operations, risk, and architecture teams to design and implement scalable tokenization solutions.
- Establish product requirements, business cases, go-to-market plans, and success metrics.
- Manage product performance, customer feedback, and continuous enhancement activities.

Commercialization & Business Growth
- Develop business cases and revenue models for tokenization services.
- Drive adoption of tokenization solutions among issuers, acquirers, merchants, wallets, fintechs, and ecosystem partners.
- Identify opportunities to monetize tokenization capabilities through value-added services.
- Support sales and business development teams in client engagements and solution positioning.
- Establish and monitor KPIs related to adoption, revenue, transaction growth, and customer satisfaction.

Industry & Ecosystem Partnerships
- Build strong relationships with digital wallet providers, fintechs, payment processors, and technology partners.
- Represent the organization in industry forums, working groups, and standards bodies.
- Collaborate with ecosystem stakeholders to drive interoperability and innovation.
- Support strategic partnerships that accelerate product growth and market expansion.

Risk, Compliance & Governance
- Ensure products comply with regulatory requirements, scheme mandates, and security standards.
- Collaborate with legal, compliance, and risk management teams on governance frameworks.
- Support implementation of PCI DSS, EMVCo tokenization standards, network tokenization requirements, and related payment security initiatives.
- Partner with security functions and help monitor and mitigate operational, fraud, and cybersecurity risks associated with tokenization services.

Team Leadership
- Build, mentor, and apply leadership skills in a high-performing product management team.
- Foster a customer-centric and innovation-driven culture.
- Provide coaching to product managers and cross-functional stakeholders
- Promote cross-functional collaboration and execution excellence.

Qualifications/Education
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Technology, Engineering, Computer Science, Finance, or a related field.

Experience
- 10+ years of product management experience within payments, fintech, banking, or related industries.
- 5+ years leading payment products with direct responsibility for strategy, roadmap, and delivery.
- Deep expertise in payment tokenization, digital wallets, card payments, network tokenization, and payment security.
- Proven track record launching and scaling payment products across multiple markets.
- Experience working with card schemes, issuers, acquirers, merchants, fintechs, and payment processors.
- Strong understanding of payment ecosystems, authorization flows, and emerging payment technologies.
