What you will do

Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role, the Director, Strategic Planning & Operations (SPO) for Amgen’s Bone Health Business Unit (BHBU) will ensure the effective operation of the U.S. Bone Health business while leading strategic initiatives critical to its growth and evolution.

The SPO will report directly to the VP/GM, BHBU, and work closely with the BHBU Leadership Team (LT), Marketing, Sales, and cross-functional partners, including Market Access, Medical, Finance, Business Insights, Patient Services, Regulatory, Supply, and Global colleagues.

  • Manage the BHBU operating cadence and key forums, including LT meetings, business reviews, business-planning meetings, and town halls.
  • Drive performance-management processes, including business reporting, insights, and action planning to enable timely decisions and course correction.
  • Facilitate Marketing–Sales integration, ensuring alignment between brand strategy, field execution, customer insights, and commercial priorities.
  • Develop key presentations, reports, and communications for governance meetings, leadership forums, and planning sessions.
  • Interface with Global partners to support appropriate alignment and information sharing.

Leadership of Strategic Projects

  • Lead cross-functional strategic projects that advance the BHBU commercial strategy, operating model, and long-term performance.
  • Drive adoption of AI tools and capabilities to enhance business efficiency, analytics, and decision-making.
  • Identify and execute opportunities to strengthen cross-functional integration, agility, and execution through innovation and best practices.
  • Lead transformation initiatives that improve business processes, collaboration, and ways of working.
  • Translate strategic priorities into integrated plans, clear accountabilities, and measurable outcomes.
