Job Description: EHS Technician
Job Title: Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Technician
Department: Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS)
Reports To: EHS Manager
Position Summary
The Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Technician supports the implementation and maintenance of Environmental, Health, and Safety programs in a high-volume manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in solar panels, photovoltaic (PV), semiconductor, or other cleanroom manufacturing facilities and possess a strong understanding of hazardous chemicals, safety regulations, and environmental compliance. This role assists in creating a safe work environment by conducting inspections, investigating incidents, maintaining records, delivering training, and promoting a strong safety culture throughout the organization.
Key Responsibilities
· Support daily EHS operations and ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and local environmental regulations.
· Monitor hazardous chemical storage, handling, transportation, and disposal, including acids, solvents, gases, and specialty chemicals used in solar panel manufacturing.
· Perform air quality, noise, wastewater, and environmental monitoring activities.
· Maintain Safety Data Sheets (SDS), chemical inventories, and regulatory documentation.
· Coordinate hazardous waste management activities in accordance with environmental regulations.
· Assist in implementing and maintaining safety management system, EHS programs and procedures.
· Collaborate with facility, operations and maintenance teams to drive continuous improvement.
· Assist in ergonomic evaluation, conduct routine workplace safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
· Participate in incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive action implementation.
· Support emergency response activities, spill response, and evacuation drills.
· Coordinate and deliver employee safety orientations and ongoing training programs.
· Maintain safety records, inspection reports, training documentation, and compliance files.
· Support emergency preparedness activities, including evacuation drills and emergency response planning.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
· Associate's or Bachelor degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Process Engineering or a related field.
· Working knowledge of OSHA, experience with chemical safety programs and hazardous materials management.
· Familiarity with Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Confined Space, Hot Work, Machine Guarding, and Electrical Safety programs.
· Experience conducting incident investigations and safety audits.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
· Preferred Qualifications
· Occupational Health and Safety Technologist (OHST) certification, or Certified
Safety Professional (CSP),
· HAZWOPER (24-hour or 40-hour) certification.
· Experience with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.
· Knowledge of industrial hygiene monitoring and cleanroom protocols.
· Experience with hazardous gases, vacuum systems, and chemical distribution systems used in semiconductors or Solar panel (photovoltaic) manufacturing.
