What you'll do

  • Ensure the safe and reliable operation of electrical systems, equipment, and infrastructure.
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical faults to minimize equipment downtime and operational disruptions.
  • Install, replace, test, and commission electrical circuits, conduits, cables, motors, transformers, generators, lighting systems, and related equipment.
  • Complete electrical work accurately in accordance with drawings, schematics, National Electrical Code (NEC) requirements, and company standards.
  • Conduct inspections and testing of electrical equipment and power systems to verify performance and operational readiness.
  • Maintain compliance with safety requirements and demonstrate safe use of electrical testing equipment and hand tools.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance reliability, efficiency, and safety.

  • Experience using electrical testing equipment, including multimeters, insulation resistance testers, and clamp meters.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot electrical faults and perform repairs safely and efficiently.
  • Ability to work independently, travel as required, and perform work in varying environmental conditions.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds, climb ladders, and work at heights when required.

Nice to have

  • Journeyman Electrician license or ability to obtain one
  • PLC troubleshooting and maintenance experience.
  • Experience in power generation, renewable energy, landfill gas, oil and gas, or other industrial operations.
  • Knowledge of electrical safety standards beyond minimum compliance requirements, including CDC/NIOSH electrical safety guidance.
  • Experience leading small projects, mentoring junior electricians, or providing technical guidance to team members.

Archaea Energy, a bp company, is a leader in landfill gas to energy and the largest renewable natural gas (RNG) producer in the US. With big ambitions, we specialize in the development, construction and operation of RNG, landfill-gas-to-electric and dairy digester facilities. The team operates around 50 sites in 32 states with a robust development pipeline.

About the role

The Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and testing electrical systems and equipment in support of safe and reliable operations. This role works independently and collaboratively with field teams to ensure electrical infrastructure, equipment, and power systems operate efficiently and comply with applicable safety standards and electrical codes.

How much do we pay (Base)? $29 -$34 *Note that the pay range listed for this position is a genuinely expected and reasonable estimate of the range of possible base compensation at the time of posting.

This position offers paid vacation depending on your years of relevant industry experience and will range from 120 – 240 hours of vacation per year for full times employees (60 - 240 hours of vacation per year for part time employees).
