About this role

Turn ideas into solutions. Simplify processes. Shape the future of Tax Technology.

Join Morgan Stanley’s global Tax Department and help transform how Finance teams work through automation, data, and smart technology. As a Finance Automation & Solution Design Analyst, you will turn business challenges into scalable digital solutions, working with global stakeholders and Technology teams from initial idea through implementation.

This opportunity is ideal for a technical business analyst, finance transformation professional, or automation specialist who enjoys solving problems, improving processes, and building practical solutions with tools such as Microsoft Power Platform, Alteryx, Power BI, and UiPath. You do not need to be a tax expert. Curiosity, analytical thinking, and the drive to make processes better will help you succeed.

In Morgan Stanley’s Finance Division, we partner with businesses globally by providing analysis, oversight, and advice on the Firm’s financial and capital resources. Since 1935, Morgan Stanley has continuously evolved to better serve its clients and communities in more than 40 countries.

What you’ll do in the role:

  • Identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, and automate processes across the global Tax Department
  • Partner with Tax, Finance, and Technology stakeholders to understand business needs and turn them into practical solutions
  • Gather requirements, map processes, write user stories, and support solution design throughout the development lifecycle
  • Build and enhance low-code solutions using tools such as Power Platform, Alteryx, SharePoint, Power BI, Power Query, or UiPath
  • Support testing, implementation, and continuous improvement of custom Tax Technology solutions
  • Improve reporting, workflows, data sources, and information repositories
  • Collaborate with international teams to deliver scalable solutions with measurable business impact
  • Contribute fresh ideas that strengthen efficiency, controls, and the user experience

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • Experience in business analysis, finance transformation, technology, operations, software delivery, or process improvement
  • Confidence gathering requirements and translating business challenges into clear functional or technical specifications
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive and solution-focused mindset
  • Experience with Excel and an interest in automation, digital tools, and data
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and take ownership of deliverables
  • Confidence working independently while collaborating across a global team
  • A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline
