Job Description

Overview

The Component Integrity (CI) group provides specialized engineering, assessment, and analytical services to support the safe, reliable, and long-term operation of CANDU nuclear generating stations. The group is responsible for the integrity assessment and life management of key reactor components, including fuel channels, feeders, steam generators, piping systems, and other safety-significant plant equipment.

As part of the CI group, the incumbent is responsible for performing Fitness-for-Service (FFS) assessments of major CANDU reactor components. This includes evaluating component condition, degradation mechanisms, structural integrity, remaining life, and operational fitness using engineering analyses, applicable codes and standards, inspection data, and industry best practices. The role supports plant operations, maintenance, refurbishment, and long-term asset management by providing technically sound recommendations that ensure continued safe and reliable service.
