Fleet Manager

Location: Hybrid working with weekly travel to UK wide site locations

Salary: Between £38,400 - £42,000 per annum, dependant on experience + company car

Schedule: 9 month fixed term contract, 37.5 hours per week

As a Fleet Manager in our VIVO team, you'll help deliver safe, compliant and cost-effective fleet operations that support essential services. You'll work closely with contract teams, suppliers and colleagues to ensure vehicles remain available, roadworthy and ready to meet operational demands.

What you'll do as a Fleet Manager

• Manage the day-to-day fleet requirements across the contract, ensuring vehicles are available to support operational delivery.
• Oversee vehicle maintenance, servicing, inspections and repairs in line with manufacturer guidelines and legislative requirements.
• Monitor fleet expenditure, fuel usage, vehicle performance and operational costs to deliver value for money and reduce total cost of ownership.
• Build strong relationships with third-party suppliers, managing service performance and ensuring agreed service levels are achieved.
• Maintain compliance with transport legislation, driver licence checks, driver qualifications and fleet policies.
• Analyse fleet data, telematics, maintenance records and utilisation trends to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and innovation.

Does this sound like you?

• Experience in a fleet management role with responsibility for vehicle compliance, maintenance and operational performance.
• Strong knowledge of UK and EU road transport legislation, including MOT requirements and Construction and Use Regulations.
• A recognised fleet management qualification, or equivalent fleet management experience.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to work collaboratively across operational teams and external suppliers.
• Strong analytical and reporting skills, with experience using fleet management systems and data to improve performance.
• A proactive approach to safety, continuous improvement and delivering high-quality customer service.

Vetting and checks:

This role requires Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance, which involves verifying your identity, employment history, nationality, and criminal record to meet government security standards. In addition, depending on the nature of the role, you may need to obtain formal Security Clearance (such as CTC or SC), which includes more detailed background checks on employment, criminal record, and financial history to ensure suitability for working in secure environments. Please note that UK residency requirements may apply for certain levels of clearance. You will also complete an Occupational Health Questionnaire so we can identify and provide any support you may need to undertake the role effectively.
