General Operative (Maintenance & Facilities Support) Portlaoise Hospital, Co. We are currently recruiting a General Operative to join our team on behalf of the HSE at Portlaoise Hospital. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in maintenance, labouring or facilities support who is looking for flexible part-time hours while contributing to the smooth running of a busy hospital. The role is offered on an initial 3-month agency contract, with the possibility of extension based on service requirements and performance. What You'll Be Doing As a General Operative, you'll play an important role in supporting the maintenance team by: Assisting with day-to-day maintenance and facilities duties Supporting tradespeople including electricians, plumbers, carpenters and painters Moving materials, tools and equipment safely around the site Carrying out general labouring and site preparation tasks Maintaining clean, safe and organised work areas Following health and safety procedures and reporting any hazards Assisting with the general upkeep of hospital facilities What We're Looking For To be successful, you should have: Previous experience in maintenance, labouring, facilities support or a similar role A valid Safe Pass A valid Manual Handling Certificate A good level of physical fitness for indoor and outdoor work A positive attitude with the ability to work as part of a team A strong awareness of health and safety procedures Reliability, flexibility and a willingness to learn What's on Offer?
