Graduate Teaching Assistant

We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and committed Graduate Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate looking to gain hands-on experience in education before progressing into a career in teaching, educational psychology, SEN or a related field.

The Role
As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Support the class teacher with the delivery of engaging lessons and activities.
• Provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils.
• Help pupils overcome barriers to learning and develop their confidence.
• Support pupils with their academic, social and emotional development.
• Assist pupils who may have additional learning needs or require extra support.
• Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
• Support classroom management and maintain a positive learning environment.
• Prepare classroom resources and assist with day-to-day classroom activities.
• Work collaboratively with teachers and other members of the school team.

About You
We are looking for a graduate who is:

• Educated to degree level.
• Passionate about working with children and young people.
• Patient, empathetic and approachable.
• Confident communicating with pupils and staff.
• Able to build strong and positive relationships.
• Enthusiastic, proactive and willing to learn.
• Reliable, organised and committed.
• Interested in pursuing a career within education, teaching, psychology or SEN.

Relevant degrees may include Psychology, Education, Childhood Studies, Sociology, Criminology, Special Educational Needs, Health & Social Care, or another related subject.
Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable but not essential -we are also keen to hear from graduates who are looking to gain their first experience within a school setting.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
