Hardware Team Leader

Hardware Team Leader Up to £65,000 Medway

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Hardware Team Leader to join a leading organisation operating at the forefront of advanced technology across the defence and aerospace sectors.

This is an exciting opportunity to take both technical and managerial responsibility for a highly skilled electronics engineering team, supporting the delivery of sophisticated and safety-critical products.

You’ll play a key role in ensuring engineering teams are aligned with production requirements, projects remain on track, and technical standards are maintained throughout the product development lifecycle.

Duties Include:

· Provide technical and people leadership to an experienced electronics design team.

· Manage work packages, including cost, schedule, risks and opportunities.

· Work closely with production teams to ensure engineering activity supports programme requirements.

· Provide technical governance and ensure engineering processes and standards are followed.

· Lead cost and performance trade-offs and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

· Report on project progress, task status and technical maturity to project management.

· Work with functional management to assess team capacity and future resource requirements.

· Support the development of team capability, skills and working practices.

· Drive improvements focused on reducing failures and improving product reliability.

The successful candidate will have:

· Demonstrable success in leading and managing engineering teams through the full product development lifecycle.

· Experience managing cost, planning, dependencies and work packages.

· A strong understanding of engineering design and improving processes and ways of working.

· Experience identifying root causes and implementing improvements to reduce failures and improve reliability.

· The ability to balance technical, commercial and programme requirements.

· Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
