HR Generalist – Germany

FirstVet’s mission is to improve the way pet owners navigate care for their pets by making veterinary care more accessible. We are an international company operating across several markets, with our headquarters in central Stockholm.

Our German organisation has grown quickly over the past year, from around 8 employees to more than 50 today. We are now looking for an HR Generalist in Germany to join our global HR team and help us support that growth.

The Role

Join our HR team and take ownership of day-to-day HR for our growing German organisation.

You will support managers and employees across a broad range of HR topics, from recruitment and onboarding to payroll, employment matters and offboarding. You will also help us develop and improve our German HR processes as the organisation continues to grow.

You will be part of our global HR team and report to the Head of HR. This is a broad, hands-on role with plenty of opportunities to influence how we work and to take on more responsibility over time.

Your Responsibilities

• Day-to-day HR support for employees and managers in Germany

• Recruitment, including job ads, screening, interviews and coordination of the hiring process

• Onboarding, offboarding and employee changes

• Preparation and coordination of monthly German payroll

• Employment contracts, amendments and other HR documentation

• Supporting managers with German employment and HR matters

• HR administration and employee data in HiBob

• Ensuring local HR processes and documentation meet German requirements

• Improving and developing HR processes as we grow

• Supporting global HR initiatives together with the wider HR team

Who We Are Looking For

We value personal qualities just as much as background and experience. We are looking for someone who enjoys broad HR, likes taking ownership and is comfortable working independently while being part of an international team.

You probably have:

• 2–5 years of broad HR experience in Germany

• Good practical knowledge of German employment law and HR requirements

• Experience with payroll preparation and HR administration

• Experience in recruitment and onboarding

• Strong communication skills and an ability to build trust with employees and managers

• A structured, hands-on and pragmatic approach

• Strong attention to detail

• Fluency in German and English

Experience from an international or fast-growing company is a plus.
