What you'll do

  • Serves as the HR liaison to designated departments within the school.
  • Manages faculty contract business processes in collaboration with the Vice Dean’s Office and academic units.
  • Act as a trusted advisor and provide guidance to employees and management on various HR matters

  • Processes changes of employment in HRIS (Workday)
  • Provides general assistance to employees regarding leaves of absence, employment status
  • Provides reports to Director and school leadership as required.
  • Conducts needs assessments of teams and departments and provides appropriate solutions (e.g., team building, coaching, OD, training) to improve performance, workflow and engagement.

Human Resources

The Marshall School of Business is seeking an experienced, knowledgeable collaborative, culture-oriented HR professional for the position of Human Resources Generalist to join our dynamic team.  The Human Resources Generalist will provide full-service human resources support to the school’s various departments and assist the Assistant Director of Human Resources in the day-to-day administration of HR programs and policies for the school.

Assignment Details
This is a Resource Employee assignment, with the possibility of extension based on business needs, funding, and performance. This is an on-site role that requires the selected candidate to work in person on campus.

Salary Range

The hourly range for this position is $37.23 - $47.22. When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal, state, and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations.

Minimum Field of Expertise: Directly related human resource experience providing thorough knowledge of laws governing human resource and policies and procedures. Knowledge of human resource theories, principles and practices. Knowledge of principles and processes involved in business and organizational planning, coordination and execution.
