Job Title: Infection Control Nurse Branch Name: Thanal Brain & Spine Medcity Qualification: Bsc/Msc Nursing Experience : 2-3 Years Location: Kanhirode , Kannur Employment Type: Full time Department: Neurorehabilitation Key Responsibilities: Infection Surveillance: Monitor and record hospital-acquired infections and track infection trends. Conduct regular infection control rounds in all patient care areas. Policy Implementation: Develop, update, and enforce infection control policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs). Ensure adherence to aseptic techniques and hygiene protocols across departments. Training & Awareness: Conduct regular training programs for nursing, medical, housekeeping, and support staff on infection control practices. Promote hand hygiene and standard precaution compliance through awareness drives and demonstrations. Audit & Compliance: Perform infection control audits and report non-compliance to management. Maintain records and documentation as per NABH / JCI / statutory requirements. Outbreak Management: Identify and manage infection outbreaks, coordinate isolation procedures, and implement corrective actions. Sterilization & Disinfection: Monitor sterilization, disinfection, and waste management processes. Liaise with CSSD (Central Sterile Services Department) and housekeeping for maintaining infection-free environments. Reporting & Documentation: Prepare monthly and quarterly infection control reports for management and accreditation bodies. Maintain surveillance data and analyze infection patterns. Coordination: Work closely with the Infection Control Committee and Quality Department to improve patient safety standards. Liaise with laboratory and clinical departments for infection data collection and preventive measures. Requirements Required Skills and Competencies: In-depth knowledge of infection control standards and guidelines (NABH, WHO, CDC). Strong observation, analytical, and reporting skills. Effective communication and leadership skills. Ability to train and influence multidisciplinary teams. Proficiency in MS Office and basic documentation tools.
