Job Description

We’re recruiting for a Junior Payroll Consultant to join us. We’re offering a competitive base salary. 

 

Are you comfortable working with data, keen to learn and looking for an opportunity to build a career in payroll and pensions?

You do not need previous payroll or pensions experience. We are more interested in your attention to detail, confidence with data, ability to stay organised and willingness to learn.

You’ll receive structured training through our training academy, helping you understand payroll processes, payment calculations and the wider journey of a Defined Benefit Pension Risk scheme.

What you'll be doing:

• Learning to manage assigned buy-in scheme activities in line with benefit specifications
• Processing pension payment information using internal systems and spreadsheets
• Completing payment and true-up calculations accurately and within agreed timescales
• Calculating the funding required by pension trustees
• Responding to enquiries from internal and external contacts
• Building an understanding of the end-to-end Pension Risk Transfer journey
• Maintaining accurate records, filing conventions and audit trails
• Keeping relevant teams and third parties updated on information affecting processing

Who we're looking for:

• Confidence working with data, numbers and detailed information
• Basic experience using office applications and a willingness to learn new systems
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise competing tasks
• Careful attention to detail and a commitment to delivering accurate work
• Ability to work to deadlines and ask for support when needed
• Clear and respectful written and verbal communication
• A customer-focused approach and an interest in delivering good outcomes
• Previous payroll, pensions or financial services experience is welcome but not essential
