Job Description

About the Role

As a Kitchen Steward at HYDE Perth, you’ll play an essential role in keeping our kitchen and food & beverage operations running smoothly. Working as part of a dynamic team across our restaurant and function teams, you’ll help maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene and organisation behind the scenes.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Keeping kitchen equipment, crockery, utensils and work areas clean and hygienic to a high standard
  • Operating commercial dishwashing equipment and using cleaning products safely and correctly
  • Supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of the kitchens and food outlets
  • Maintaining exceptional cleanliness and hygiene standards in line with health and safety requirements
  • Assisting with the movement and organisation of deliveries, stock and waste throughout the loading bay
  • Relocating waste and recycling bins as required and keeping back-of-house areas clean, safe and organised
  • Working closely with the kitchen and wider hotel team to ensure a seamless operation, particularly during busy service periods

This is a casual opportunity suited to someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced hospitality environment and takes pride in doing the important work that keeps a busy kitchen operating at its best.

Qualifications

You’re a reliable, energetic and hardworking team player who understands that great hospitality starts behind the scenes. You’re not afraid to get stuck in, can work at pace, and take pride in maintaining high standards.

To be successful in this role, you’ll bring:

  • Full availability and flexibility to work a variety of shifts across the week, including early mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays
  • Reliable transport to and from work, particularly for early or late shifts , own transport is highly recommended and parking is available
  • A positive, professional attitude and strong work ethic
  • The ability to work effectively both as part of a team and independently
  • Previous experience in a high-volume, fast-paced restaurant, hotel or hospitality environment is highly regarded
  • Good physical fitness and the ability to safely lift and move items weighing up to 10kg
  • A proactive approach and willingness to support the wider team wherever needed
  • A strong commitment to cleanliness, hygiene, health and safety
