What you'll do

  • Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Service, Quality, and Welding Application teams to troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing, field, and customer-reported issues.
  • Support root cause investigations, issue containment, corrective actions, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Troubleshoot/diagnose electrical and electromechanical issues and support failure analysis
  • Execute product performance, thermal, safety, reliability, and design validation testing.
  • Set up test equipment, instrumentation, and test samples in support of engineering projects.
  • Collect, document, and summarize test results in clear technical reports.
  • Support product compliance and certification testing activities, including CSA, UL, CE, IEC, and related regulatory requirements.
  • Build, modify, repair, and evaluate prototype and production units in support of product development, testing, and manufacturing investigations.
  • Assist engineering teams with evaluation of product improvements, design changes, and corrective actions.
  • Maintain equipment readiness, calibration records, work areas, and safe operating practices.

Job Description

The Industrial Equipment Engineering team is seeking a Laboratory Technician to provide hands-on technical support for production, continuous improvement, testing, and new product development of industrial welding equipment.

This position serves as a key link between Engineering and Manufacturing, supporting troubleshooting, root cause investigations, product testing, prototype evaluation, corrective actions, and production issue resolution. The role works closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Service, Quality, and Welding Application teams to improve product quality, reliability, and manufacturability.

The successful candidate will combine hands-on electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills with strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.

Responsibilities:
