Introduction

The Corporate Intellectual Property department at ASML in Veldhoven helps protect and maximize the value of innovations that enable advanced semiconductor technology. Within this department, the Ownership & Licensing team supports intellectual property ownership, technology collaborations, licensing activities, and research partnerships. In this internship, you will contribute to legal projects that support innovation and technology development in a global high-tech environment. This internship provides an opportunity to gain practical experience while working alongside experienced intellectual property professionals. If you are interested in technology, innovation, and intellectual property, this internship could be the next step in your professional development.

Your assignment

As part of the Ownership & Licensing team, you will support legal activities related to intellectual property, technology collaborations, and licensing matters. You will work with experienced professionals and business stakeholders across different functions. Through this internship, you will develop practical legal skills while gaining insight into how intellectual property supports innovation within ASML. Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Support the review and drafting of intellectual property and technology-related agreements
  • Conduct legal research on ownership, licensing, confidentiality, and technology transfer topics
  • Prepare legal guidance, presentations, and communication materials for stakeholders
  • Organize and maintain contract documentation and related records
  • Assist with projects involving research collaborations and technology development initiatives
  • Support process improvement activities related to intellectual property governance
  • Collaborate with legal and business teams on intellectual property-related topics

This is a master's thesis internship for minimum 6 months, minimum 3 days per week (3 days on-site). The start date of this internship is as of February 2027, although an earlier start date is possible.

  • Have a strong interest in intellectual property, technology, and innovation
