What you'll do

  • You will work closely with the AirTrunk Legal, Site Selection and Development teams and other key business stakeholders, applying your broad expertise and knowledge to lead and drive key site selection, property, planning, leasing and acquisition workstreams across the APJ region.
  • You will advise on new, significant and unique initiatives, strategies and processes being developed across the site selection, property, planning, land acquisition space to enable the rapid expansion of AirTrunk data centre developments across APJ, utilising your conceptual thinking to understand advanced issues and implications and convey them appropriately.
  • You will be able to hone new skills and expertise in related workstreams as required, such as energy, construction, development and procurement, applying an in-depth knowledge of AirTrunk’s business, operations, technologies and services and providing legal support on AirTrunk’s strategic initiatives.
  • Review and negotiate legal contracts, and provide practical and commercial legal advice on a range of property and planning workstreams across APJ, and clearly convey advanced information concisely and commercially.
  • Support the Site Selection team to implement new, or improve on existing, commercial arrangements and contractual frameworks and policies to support the rapid expansion of data centre developments through APJ.
  • Monitor and identify emerging property, foreign investment, planning issues and developments from a legal or regulatory perspective, drive initiatives to ensure awareness, and compliance and improve processes within AirTrunk, including through training and development of new policies and procedures.
  • Advise the Site Selection team as needed to monitor, manage, and resolve claims and/or disputes.

  • Minimum of 8 years in real property experience gained from a reputable law firm and/or within an in-house environment, experience in planning a plus.
  • Experience in advising across a broad range of property-related areas, across APJ markets.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply sound judgement and commercial acumen to a range of negotiations, whilst delivering practical legal advice that manages risk.
  • Ability to autonomously and efficiently manage multiple workstreams, priorities and stakeholders.
  • Excellent negotiation, relationship building and stakeholder management skills.
  • Enjoys being challenged, has a “can do” attitude, is prepared to go above and beyond and is eager to learn and develop an in-depth knowledge of AirTrunk’s business and operations.
  • Thrives in a fun, team-oriented, fast-paced working environment.

A Snapshot 

As the Legal Counsel, Capital Projects, you will report to Senior Director, Capital Projects, and work closely with various teams and leadership across the Asia Pacific region, making your mark in a number of ways: 

  • You will work closely with the AirTrunk Legal, Site Selection and Development teams and other key business stakeholders, applying your broad expertise and knowledge to lead and drive key site selection, property, planning, leasing and acquisition workstreams across the APJ region.
