About this role

Hire Resolve is assisting legal organisations in hiring experienced legal professionals for multiple mid–senior level opportunities across a range of practice areas and business functions. This is a multi-role campaign covering both private practice and in-house positions (depending on background), with clear progression pathways toward senior specialist and leadership roles such as Senior Associate, Legal Counsel/Senior Legal Counsel, Managing Associate, Practice Lead, Head of Legal, or Legal Operations Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide practical legal advice to stakeholders and/or clients across commercial and operational matters
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and legal documents (e.g., commercial agreements, NDAs, supplier terms, service agreements)
  • Manage and progress matters in areas such as corporate, commercial, employment, regulatory, disputes, property, procurement, compliance, privacy, or governance (aligned to experience)
  • Support dispute resolution activity, including pre-action strategy, liaison with external counsel, and case management
  • Contribute to compliance programmes and internal policies, including monitoring of regulatory changes and controls
  • Assist with risk assessments and recommendations to reduce legal and commercial exposure
  • Maintain accurate records, matter documentation, and reporting aligned to confidentiality and data protection expectations
  • Partner with internal teams (e.g., HR, Finance, Procurement, Sales, Operations) to improve legal processes and decision-making
  • Support process improvement initiatives (e.g., contract playbooks, clause libraries, workflow automation, template governance)
  • Mentor junior colleagues and promote consistent quality standards across the function

Requirements

  • Qualifications (role-dependent):
    • For solicitor roles: Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales (or Scotland/Northern Ireland as relevant), typically with strong post-qualification experience
    • For barrister or advocate pathways: relevant professional qualification and practice experience (where applicable)
    • For legal operations, contracts, compliance, or specialist roles: relevant degree and substantial sector experience (legal qualification beneficial but not always essential)
  • Experience: Typically 5–12+ years of progressive legal experience (in-house and/or private practice), suited to mid–senior level scope
  • Demonstrated capability in one or more areas such as commercial contracts, corporate governance, employment, disputes, regulatory, compliance, privacy, property, or legal operations
  • Strong drafting, negotiation, stakeholder management, and risk-based decision-making skills
  • Familiarity with commonly used legal systems/tools (where relevant), such as document management systems, matter management, e-billing, CLM platforms, and Microsoft 365
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to explain legal concepts clearly to non-legal stakeholders
  • Strong attention to detail, sound judgement, and the ability to manage competing priorities confidentially and professionally
