About this role
Job Overview:
We are looking for a proactive and technically sound Maintenance Engineer / Sr. Maintenance Engineer to manage preventive and breakdown maintenance of manufacturing equipment and facility utilities at our cosmetic manufacturing unit. The role is critical to ensure smooth plant operations, minimal downtime, and adherence to safety and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Plant & Machinery Maintenance
Handle preventive, breakdown, and predictive maintenance of manufacturing machines (mixers, filling machines, packing machines, compressors, utilities, etc.).
Ensure maximum equipment uptime and reduce machine breakdowns.
Maintain maintenance schedules, logs, and records.
Utilities & Facility Management
Manage utilities such as power, DG set, air compressors, HVAC, water systems, plumbing, and basic civil maintenance.
Coordinate with vendors for AMC, repairs, and spare parts procurement.
Ensure proper functioning of electrical panels, motors, and safety systems.
Compliance & Safety
Ensure adherence to safety norms, GMP standards, and internal SOPs.
Support audits (internal, customer, or regulatory) related to maintenance and safety.
Maintain documentation for compliance and inspection readiness.
Continuous Improvement
Identify opportunities for cost optimization and process improvement in maintenance activities.
Suggest equipment upgrades or modifications to improve efficiency and safety.
Support the installation and commissioning of new machinery.
Team Coordination
Guide technicians/helpers and coordinate daily maintenance activities.
Work closely with Production, QA, and Operations teams to align maintenance priorities.
Desired Candidate Profile:
Qualification: Diploma / BE / BTech in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering
Experience:
Maintenance Engineer/ Senior Maintenance Engineer: 3-8 years
Prior experience in FMCG / Cosmetics / Pharma / Manufacturing industry preferred
Hands-on knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and utility systems
Basic understanding of GMP, safety, and audit requirements
Ability to handle vendors and emergency breakdowns
