What you'll do

  • Coordinate the monthly financial close, ensuring activities are completed accurately and within agreed deadlines.
  • Perform routine account analysis, reviews and transactional accounting, liaising with third parties and internal management as required.
  • Prepare and fully reconcile accruals, prepayments and provisions.
  • Prepare and submit monthly group reporting.
  • Maintain control of the Sales Company’s fixed assets, including monthly reconciliations, reporting and depreciation postings.
  • Maintain control of the Sales Company’s right of use assets, ensuring reporting complies with applicable accounting standards.
  • Analyse financial data and prepare accurate general ledger journal entries.
  • Prepare and review balance sheet account reconciliations.
  • Support the external audit process by liaising with auditors and providing relevant documentation.
  • Assist with the preparation of statutory accounts in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
  • Complete monthly stock reconciliations across the JDE, PRMS and REX systems, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
  • Prepare and submit the UK VAT return, ensuring records are accurate and processes remain compliant with relevant requirements.

  • CIMA, ACCA or equivalently qualified, with at least three years relevant post qualification experience.
  • Sound knowledge of accounting principles, financial statements, practices and procedures.

  • Experience with group reporting packages, knowledge of AARO would be advantageous.

The Financial Accountant will support the accurate preparation of monthly financial accounts for the UK.

This is a site based role requiring four days per week on site, with the flexibility to work from home one day per week.
 

Responsibilities and Key Tasks

  • Perform routine account analysis, reviews and transactional accounting, liaising with third parties and internal management as required.

  • Prepare and fully reconcile accruals, prepayments and provisions.

  • Prepare and submit monthly group reporting.

  • Maintain control of the Sales Company’s fixed assets, including monthly reconciliations, reporting and depreciation postings.

  • Maintain control of the Sales Company’s right of use assets, ensuring reporting complies with applicable accounting standards.

  • Arrange and monitor monthly foreign exchange hedging activities.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience

  • CIMA, ACCA or equivalently qualified, with at least three years relevant post qualification experience.

  • Sound knowledge of accounting principles, financial statements, practices and procedures.

  • Good understanding of external audit processes and requirements.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail.

  • Clear and effective communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across the business and with external stakeholders.
