The Role

As a Mental Health Officer, you'll provide a vital specialist social work service to individuals with mental illness, working to ensure they receive the care and support they need, both in hospital and after discharge. You'll play a key role in their journey to recovery and well-being.

• Hospital and Community Support: Provide a specialist mental health social work service to individuals in hospital and collaborate with other agencies to ensure a smooth transition to community-based care upon discharge.
• Care Management: Undertake comprehensive care management duties for people with mental illness, assessing their needs and coordinating appropriate support.
• Statutory Duties: Fulfil statutory mental health officer duties under mental health, incapacity, and criminal justice legislation, ensuring all legal requirements are met.
• Multi-agency Working: Work collaboratively with health services and other agencies to deliver a coordinated and holistic approach to care.

Qualifications and Skills:

• A recognised Social Work qualification (e.g., BA/MA in Social Work, DipSW).
• Qualified Mental Health Officer
• Registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) A full driving licence and access to a vehicle.
