ALS has a fantastic opportunity for a Microbiology Lab Technician to join their team in Clonmel. Job Summary
To perform work as allocated by Shift Supervisor to the high standards of quality required and to inform Shift Supervisor in cases of doubtful validity of results.
To ensure that agreed quality systems are continually adhered to such as calibration checks, internal quality controls, daily checks, and spiked samples.
As a member of the team, to ensure that laboratory areas are kept tidy, especially designated area.
Ensure all operations are carried out in a safe manner with due regard and compliance with Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) regulations and procedures.
Ensure that confidentiality is maintained at all times with respect to customer information.
Perform other duties as required.
Starting salary of €31,000 rising within 6 months depending on performance. Additional shift allowance available for staff working on a shift pattern.
Required Education, Skills and Qualifications
Third level qualification in Science or related discipline
Experience in laboratory testing would be a distinct advantage but is not essential
Excellent standards of PC literacy (Excel, Word)
Analytical and logical approach with a keen eye for detail
Keen interest on food science and food safety
Able to thrive under pressure and work as part of team in a fast-paced environment.
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Schedule: 12 hour shift
Work Location: Carrigeen Business Park, Clonmel, Co. Tipperary (In-person).
