Job Description

The Role

We are looking for an Assistant to support an agent in our Media Finance Group in Los Angeles. This particular assistant will work across the packaging, financing, and sales of independent films, documentaries, and docuseries. This business involves working closely with filmmakers, producers, financiers, distributors, and buyers throughout every stage of a project, from development and packaging through festival strategy, sales, and distribution. The office’s primary responsibility is to help package, finance, and sell films outside of the studio system, and is heavily involved in film sales across all the major festivals such as Cannes, Sundance and Toronto. The ideal candidate will have a passion for film and curiosity for how films are developed, financed, and sold. Additionally, the Assistant is administratively capable of handling a high volume of tasks, across multiple time-zones, with the ability to clearly communicate with the agent, clients, and peers. This is a great desk to learn the independent film business from both the creative and commercial sides, while gaining exposure to filmmakers, production companies, buyers, financiers, and distributors.
