About this role

Are you passionate about last mile delivery and ready to make a real impact in one of Australia's fastest-growing logistics networks? Amazon Logistics (AMZL) Australia is looking for an **On the Road (OTR) Manager** to own on-road operations at one of our delivery stations. In this role, you'll be the critical link between station operations and our Delivery Service Partners (DSPs) and Flex DPs driving safety, delivery quality, capacity planning, compliance, and cost performance.

You'll think on your feet every day - balancing customer expectations with operational realities across a dynamic delivery network. You'll be the voice of the DSP within the station and region, building strong partnerships with operations teams, leveraging data to solve problems, and embedding a culture of continuous improvement. This field-based role offers the chance to shape the future of last mile delivery in Australia - it's fast-paced, challenging, and hugely rewarding.

The days and hours required for this role are Sunday-Wednesday 06:00 - 16:00

Key job responsibilities
- Safety leadership - Champion on-road safety standards; lead investigations, drive corrective actions, and deliver against regional safety metrics in partnership with the Senior OTR Manager and site leadership.

- DSP performance management - Support and coach a portfolio of Delivery Service Partners through daily performance reviews, training, metrics analysis, and structured feedback to maximize delivery quality and productivity on route.

- Data-driven decision making - Deliver weekly reporting on on-road performance; create actionable insights and improvement plans that influence stakeholder decisions and drive operational excellence.

- Capacity planning & execution - Manage short- and medium-term capacity plans, coordinate network changes, and execute high-volume event planning including infrastructure scaling during peak periods (e.g., Prime Day, Black Friday/Cyber Monday).

- Service type strategy - Own strategy and execution for all DSP delivery programs in your area, including standard next-day, same-day, and specialty deliveries.

- Continuous improvement - Proactively identify process improvement opportunities using Lean tools and ACES methodologies; lead cross-functional projects from concept to implementation.

- Collaboration with Under the Roof (UTR) teams - Partner with Delivery Station management to maintain quality control standards, optimize dispatch, and ensure a seamless end-to-end delivery experience.

- Stakeholder communication - Align goals and tasks across operations, customer service, technology, and senior leadership to guarantee program success.

A day in the life
You'll start your day reviewing performance dashboards and safety metrics before heading to the station floor to observe dispatch and debrief with DSP owners and drivers. You'll spend time in the field conducting safety audits, and time on dispatch dock to understand challenges. Back at your desk you'll analyze route-level data, identify improvement opportunities, and prepare for Daily/weekly business review. Throughout the day you'll collaborate with UTR leadership, ACES teams, and cross-functional partners - while mentoring DSPs and helping them navigate challenges. No two days look the same, and that's what makes this role exciting.

About the team
This role sits within the AMZL Last Mile Operations structure and reports to a Senior OTR Manager. You'll work alongside a collaborative team of OTR Managers across Australian delivery stations, all focused on building strong partnerships with independent delivery businesses to ensure millions of packages reach customers efficiently and safely. We value ownership, continuous improvement, and creating solutions that work for both operations and our delivery partners.

This is a **field-by-design** role - you'll be primarily based at your assigned delivery station with regular travel to partner sites within your region as required.
