What you'll do

  • Oversees and manages the operational aspects of projects with a focus on part procurement and tracking and serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team, engineering, global supply chain, and line management.
  • Perform CAM duties – forecasting invoices, managing procurement budgets, EVMS reporting on Cost or Schedule issues – regarding part procurement and supplier deliverables.
  • Assesses procurement issues – long lead items, alternate approvals, and develops resolutions to meet program goals and objectives.
  • Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients.
  • Ability to review engineering documentation (drawings and/or parts lists) to understand procurement requirements of part number, quantity, and if a specific supplier is required.
  • Reconcile Engineering BOM and Procurement BOM artifacts to own the master list of parts that need to be ordered and forecasted.
  • Respond to Global Supply Chain requests for data calls (pull drawings, parts lists, engineering models) and help facilitate communication between Global Supply Chain and Engineering with getting suppliers on award and facilitate issue resolution.
  • Resolve supply chain hurdles by advocating part substitutions (initiate work flows for engineering review) and/or communicate challenges to program management or buyers to overcome issues such as requesting expedite approvals or working to resolve supplier roadblocks.
  • Forecasts when invoices are expected to hit the books, be able to chase rational for invoice delays and speak to SPI/CPI discrepancies regarding part procurement.
  • Collaborate with associated teams, navigate process, provide status, and direct all part procurement duties from released engineering artifacts to ensuring kits are ready for the installation team to install on A/C.

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems sector has an opening for an Operations Principal Project Management professional to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position is located onsite in Oklahoma City, OK.

Primary Level Salary Range: $77,000.00 - $115,600.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
