Operations Specialist - Trade Settlements (Federal Reserve)

The Operations Specialist -FRB Settlements is directly responsible for specialized functions within Trade Processing, including the processing and settling of security trades settling at the FED.  This would include activities such trade settlement, TBA processing, Client communication, and reconciliation. 

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Transactions Processing       

• Process all deliver and receive orders settling with other brokers/ banks – US Government and Federal agency Mortgage-Backed securities clearing through FRB (Bank of NY) for our custody accounts. Adhere to all daily deadlines.
• Verify the trade information vs. broker presentation received from the client via the Sonic system. This includes account number, quantity, CUSIP, etc.
• Manage daily volume.

Problem/Conflict Resolution             

• Review and resolve discrepancies in order information received (for example FRB reclaims)
• Escalate problem items as appropriate

Communications       

• Communicate professionally and constructively to effectively via email, phone, etc. with internal and external clients and counterparties resolve issues to minimize risk and exposure.
• Provide superior client service.
• Communicate as part of a team.
• Contribute to Management Reporting.  This may include providing statistics on work volumes.

Process Improvement

• Gain efficiency to improve individual productivity.
• Gain an understanding of the big picture – how specific function impacts the firm.
• Contribute to Division or Firm process improvement activities.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• BS/BA degree or equivalent work experience.
• Demonstrated PC skills.
• Ability to identify, escalate and resolve a problem.
• Ability to communicate professionally through effective verbal and written skills.
• Ability to manage time efficiently and effectively.
• Organizational skills and detail-oriented.
• Ability to multi-task.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure

   

Salary Range

NJ: $50,000 - $60,000 base salary + annual target bonus

BBH and its affiliates' compensation program includes base salary, discretionary bonuses, and profit-sharing. The anticipated base salary range(s) shown above are only for the indicated location(s) and may differ in other locations due to cost of living and labor considerations. Base salaries may vary based on factors such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.
